Ingredients:
  • Bread: 6 slices of large or sandwich bread (whole wheat, white, multi-grain, or brown bread).
  • For light toasting: Olive oil or butter as required.
  • Toppings: Pizza sauce, 1 medium-sized onion (cubed), 1 medium-sized capsicum (cubed), optional 1 medium-sized tomato (cubed), optional 5-6 sliced olives, dried oregano, dried basil, optional crushed black pepper, 1 to 1.25 cups grated mozzarella or pizza cheese, optional red chili flakes.

Instructions:
  1. Prepare toppings: Chop all vegetables and keep them ready.

  2. Toast bread: Heat a heavy tawa, flat skillet, pan, or griddle and spread a small amount of olive oil on it. Lightly toast the bread slices on both sides until slightly crisp.

  3. Assemble pizza: Spread pizza sauce evenly on the toasted bread slices. Add chopped vegetables and olives (if using). Sprinkle with dried oregano, dried basil, and black pepper (if using).

  4. Add cheese: Generously top with grated mozzarella or pizza cheese. Add red chili flakes if desired.

  5. Cook: Place the prepared bread slices on the hot tawa/pan. Cover with a lid and cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese melts and the bread becomes crispy.

  6. Serve: Serve hot and enjoy.
